An e-bike has an electric motor which assist you when pedalling. This enables you to travel faster and with less effort. It feels like riding with constant tailwind.
Research shows that riding an e-bike, whether you commute or just ride for fun, can significantly contribute to your health, improve cardiovascular conditioning, improve brain function, and help you maintain a healthy body weight.
Hermansen e-bikes are pedelecs (Pedal Electrical Cycles), also called EPACs (Electrically Power Assisted Cycles), which means that they are electric bicycles where the rider’s pedalling is required to get assistance from a small electric motor. A pedelec is a low-powered e-bike type where the maximum rated power allowed is 250W and the maximum motor assisted speed level allowed is 25 km/h.
The motor is controlled from a Bluetooth connected smartphone app. From the app, you set the various motor parameters and preferences, view the motor’s running status, set the power assist level and monitor the battery charge status.
The charging time is 3-4 hours to charge the battery completely.
Yes. Hermansen e-bikes are of the pedelec e-bike type.
Pedelec stands for Pedal Electrical Cycles, also
referred to as EPACs, which stands for Electrically
Power Assisted Cycles.
The motor assist is activated by a pedal action sensor
designed to detect when the pedal is being turned.
This means that the bike provides motor assistance
only when you start to pedal, and when you stop
pedalling the motor stops supporting too. It makes
pedalling easy and feels like riding with constant tail
wind.
The battery can be charged ≥500 times thanks to its
protection functions for undervoltage, overcurrent,
short circuit and over voltage.
We guarantee that the battery still has a capacity of 60% after two years or 500 charge cycles depending on which occurs first.
As the battery ages its original capacity diminishes. This is true of all batteries.
Yes. When purchasing an e-bike or other equipment through our website you can choose to pick up your item(s) at our pick-up points free of charge. You can also choose to have the item(s) shipped and delivered to an address specified by you against payment of the shipping costs.
We have two pick-up points in Denmark. In Sealand it is located north of Copenhagen in Charlottenlund and in Jutland it is located in Skanderborg.
E-bikes picked up at our pick-up points in Denmark are delivered fully assembled. We offer a personal introduction to the bike and will help you adjust the correct saddle height and set up the smartphone app from which you control the motor.E-bikes shipped to you come 85% assembled. This means that when receiving the e-bike it is your responsibility to securely assemble the following parts on the bike: pedals, stem (handlebar w. left/right brake levers and gear shifter (applicable for multi-speed versions only) already assembled on stem), bell, front fender, front wheel, seat post and saddle. We recommend you to have a qualified bike mechanic assemble your e-bike because technical expertise and special tools are required to correctly assemble the e-bike to ensure your safety and avoid injury when riding the e-bike.
Yes. 20" wheels are equally efficient as larger wheels. The frame’s rigidity and design and the bike’s gearing are what defines the power transmission from the rider to the bike.
You can safely ride your e-bike in rainy weather but do not expose the motor, cables or battery to rain, snow or high humidity for a long time.
Yes. We ship to all countries within the EU.
Currently we don't ship to countries outside the EU area.
Some banks have a default limit on daily credit card spending. If trying to exceed this limit the bank will reject the transaction. If your payment fails at our check this might be the reason. You can contact your bank to raise your daily limit on credit card spending or you are always welcome to contact us by email support@hermansencph.com or phone +45 2636 2637 to alternatively arrange a bank transfer payment.
Yes. You are always welcome to pay by bank transfer. Please choose this option at the check out page. Alternatively, you can contact us by email support@hermansencph.com or phone +45 2636 2637 to let us know what you would like to purchase from our webshop and your contact details. We will then send you an e-mail with an invoice for your order, which you can then pay by bank transfer.
If you experience a problem with your Hermansen e-bike, please contact us by phone +45 2636 2637 or by email support@hermansencph.com and we will help you solve the problem.
In most countries, electric bicycles are treated similarly to regular bicycles, e.g. the same regulations apply and e-bikes do not require a separate license. However, regulations for e-bikes varies in different countries and areas, so make sure you check license requirement in your specific country and local area before riding your e-bike.
Unfortunately the e-bike battery cannot be recycled. The steel casing will brake if we open it and thus cannot be reused.
When your e-bike battery has reached the end of its service life, it should be treated as hazardous waste material and should not be disposed of in normal household trash.
